Sophia Howard, PhD, Licensed Psychologist

Dr. Sophia Howard (she/her/hers) is licensed as a psychologist in Missouri. She received her master’s degree in clinical psychology from Virginia State University in 2018 and her Ph.D. in School Psychology from Texas A&M University in 2023. Dr. Howard completed her pre-doctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Burrell Behavioral Health in Springfield, MO.

During her pre-doctoral internship, Dr. Howard received training in providing treatment to individuals with eating disorders and borderline personality disorder. During her postdoctoral fellowship, Dr. Howard specialized in conducting psychological assessments for autism spectrum disorder at the Burrell Autism Center for children as young as 2 years old, as well as assessing for ADHD for children and adults across the lifespan. Dr. Howard additionally has a background in conducting psychological assessments for mood, personality, and anxiety disorders.

Dr. Howard has experience in providing therapeutic services to children and adults to treat a range of mental health conditions and presenting concerns, including anxiety disorders, depression, emotional dysregulation, eating disorders, personality and mood disorders, relationship difficulties, identity, and major life transitions. Dr. Howard enjoys providing therapy services to children/adolescents and adults using culturally responsive, trauma informed, and mindfulness based practices, as well as components from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. She has a background in providing therapy and assessment services for diverse populations across, school, community mental health, and private practice settings.
